- Illness policy: Clear guidelines for when children should stay home, with return-to-care criteria aligned with pediatric recommendations

Monthly fire drills, working smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and clearly marked emergency exits. Children practice evacuation procedures regularly.
Earthquake Preparedness
Earthquake drills, emergency supply kit, secure furniture and equipment, and a reunification plan for parents after an event.
Medical Emergency Response
First aid kits on-site, staff trained to recognize and respond to medical emergencies, and established relationships with local pediatricians.
Secure Facility
Controlled entry with secure access, no unauthorized entry permitted. Children are never left unsupervised, and all visitors are verified.

- Supervision ratios: 6:1 child-to-staff ratio ensures constant, attentive supervision
- Headcounts: Regular headcounts during transitions and outdoor play
- Safe arrival/dismissal: Verified pick-up list with photo ID requirement for unauthorized visitors
- Indoor safety: Childproofed environment with age-appropriate furniture and secured shelving
- Outdoor safety: Fenced outdoor area, soft fall surfaces, age-appropriate equipment, and regular safety inspections
- Documentation: Incident reports for any injuries, with parent notification on the same day
